Answers to FAQs For Online Registration Customers
- Q: How can I register for an activity?
- A: There are 4 easy ways to register for recreational activities:
(1) ONLINE: Register from the convenience of your own home, 24/7.
(2) DROP BOX: The drop box is accessible 24/7 and is located at the Senior Center & Recreation Building, 114 E. Third St. on the side of the building off the parking lot. If you'd like a receipt mailed back to you, please include your email address or a self-addressed stamped envelope.
(3) MAIL-IN: Please mail your registration to: BD Community Activities & Services Dept., 114 E. Third St., Beaver Dam, WI 53916. If you'd like a receipt mailed back to you, please include your email address or a self-addressed stamped envelope.
(4) WALK-IN: Visit us in person during our regular business hours, Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm.
Please note that a percentage of spaces will be saved for drop box, mail-in, and walk-in registrations.
- Q: Do I pay a convenience fee?
- A: Yes, there is a small percentage-based convenience fee typical of any internet sales. This fee is non-refundable.
- Q: How do I request a login name and password for an online account?
- A: You will be asked to create a login name and password automatically when establishing your new online account after clicking on the "Request Account" button. If you do not enter a login name when setting up your new online account, one will be assigned to you. Once your new online account has been approved, you will receive an email (within 24 hours) containing your login name and password. Make sure to write down your login name and password in a safe place, as you will need both of these items to register for online activities in the future.
- Q: Am I a resident or non-resident?
- A: The Department charges two different program fees, resident and non-resident. You are a resident if you live within the city limits of Beaver Dam. You are a non-resident if you live outside the city limits. If you have a letter that preceeds your house number, such as N1029 or W3908, you are considered a non-resident even though you have a Beaver Dam address. If unsure, please contact our office at 887-4639.
- Q: How do I enter my residental address if I am a city resident and want to make sure I am charged the resident fee?
- A: If you are a city resident and want to ensure that you are charged resident fees, it is very important that you abbreviate your address when appropriate. For example, Street, Lane, Circle, and Avenue would be abbreviated as St, Ln, Cir, and Ave respectively. DO NOT use periods (.) in your address.
Please note that if you live in an apartment building, have "1/2" in your address or live on a numbered street, it may not be recognized as a city address and you may have to call the department at 887-4639 to have your address set to "resident" so the appropropriate fees are applied.
If you realize that you were charged the non-resident fee after your transaction has been completed, please contact the department at 887-4639 to have the charges adjusted.
